Malibu Inu's very slow summer

She wakes up at eleven, takes the pink boat out along the coast and is on a flamingo float by two. We caught her in between.

The crown goes on before anything else. It stays on in the bath.

“If it's after four, I'm at the beach. If it's before four, I'm on my way to the beach.”

She's launching on the AQUA launchpad with $AQUA as her pair, and she would like everyone to know. The teardrop pendant on her collar is their couple jewelry. It hasn't come off since.

Things happen around her. A speedboat cuts too close to the float. A boat alarm at the marina goes off for forty minutes. She doesn't look up.

At golden hour she's on the sand with the crown catching the last of the light. It's the only appointment she keeps.
